Faiz Haris

Faiz is an Engineering (Masters) student at the University of Cambridge. With extensive experience in STEM backed up by 3 years of internships in industry, Faiz is a passionate tutor committed to promoting student excellence.

Amongst his extracurriculars, Faiz enjoys coding and participates in Hack-a-thons while in Cambridge. He is also co-captain of his college basketball team and helps the college basketball association with refereeing and match planning. He knows about the difficulties that come with managing extracurricular and academic commitments, and this helps him relate to his students and streamline their learning.

Faiz Haris is a Science, Mathematics and Computing specialist and a University of Cambridge Engineering (Masters) student, currently in his third year. He teaches Key Stage 3 and GCSE Biology and Computer Science, and supports GCSE, AS Level, A Level and International Baccalaureate learners in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Further Maths, alongside Key Stage 3 French. Academically, Faiz achieved A*, A*, A*, A* at A Level in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Further Mathematics, plus A*, A*, A* at AS Level in French, English Language and Literature, and Geography. He also earned 11 A*s at GCSE, including Computing, Design & Technology, Spanish, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English Language, French, Mathematics and Further Mathematics. His STEM background is further strengthened by three years of industry internships.

Faiz’s tutoring is focused and precise, designed to identify gaps quickly and address weaknesses (even when students aren’t sure what’s holding them back). Whether a student needs a GCSE maths tutor, an A Level maths tutor, a chemistry tutor or a computer science tutor, he aims to build confidence through clear reasoning and targeted practice. Outside academics, he enjoys coding and hackathons, is co-captain of his college basketball team, and supports the college basketball association with refereeing and match planning, so he understands the pressures of balancing extracurriculars with study. He charges £30 per hour, provides a lesson report after each lesson, and homework can be arranged at no extra charge.
