About Colin

Colin is a former Head of English and Drama and Director of Drama in state and independent schools where he taught English Language, English Literature, English Language and Literature at GCSE and A level, and Drama at GCSE and Drama and Theatre Studies at A level throughout the age and ability range (11 - 18). He continues to work as a moderator and examiner in both English Language and Literature and for Drama with most of the UK's major examination boards including English IGCSE for Cambridge Examinations.

He is an English Language and Literature tutor for a distance learning college in the UK where students are prepared for GCSE and A level in English Language and English Literature. He has also worked with students on-line in English and Drama and the 13+ common entrance exam. both in the UK, Russia, China and the Netherlands.

He is a director, former adjudicator of Speech and Drama (a member of the British and International Federation of Festivals) and an ex-examiner for LAMDA (the London Academy of Dramatic Arts) and has had the opportunity of examining throughout the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands, Ireland and Africa, China, Sri Lanka, Thailand more recently (pre-pandemic) in addition to examination centres throughout Europe. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Colin very much enjoys working on a one-to-one basis identifying areas for further academic and personal development alongside the student's own school work. It is a necessary and highly effective way of working with an individual to provide support and exam. preparation (where appropriate) and both students and, importantly parents, appreciate the confidence and success such a way of learning brings to the student.
