Justin Raine

Justin is a recent graduate of Nottingham Trent University having earned himself a 2:1 in Chemistry. Justin has tutored GCSE and AS and A Level Chemistry, Maths and Physics for more than two years now.

From Justin's experience, the majority of the struggling students in these subjects are not lack ability. They only have missed a crucial aspect along the line and all subsequent concepts have become incomprehensible. The most crucial step for Justin when dealing with his tutees is to identify the missing aspect and plug it in, ensuring that every new concept has a strong foundation.

One of Justin's students started in the bottom set but was eventually at the top of his class at the end of his time tutoring him.

All the lessons taught by Justin are customized according to the particular student he tutors taking into consideration how the student learns, loses marks and what he or she aims to achieve. Apart from the actual subject matter, Justin also teaches the tutee how to develop good study habits that can be sustained, develop a strategy for answering exam questions and build their confidence. He believes confidence matters as much as content. A student who believes they can do it will attempt the hard question instead of leaving it blank.

Outside tutoring, Justin played football for his university team and enjoys music and watching anime. He's always happy to chat with students about life beyond revision too.
