About William

William Barnardo is a professional musician and artist with over seven years teaching experience. Having graduated with first class honours from The University of York reading Music, he went on to complete a scholarship in the prestigious I.S.I. Surakarta (conservation for Indonesian arts) studying Central Javanese classical music. While in Java he also performed and rehearsed regularly at the Mangkunegaran Palace for the palace dancers.

He now teaches with several charities in prisons, schools, and art centres, as well as his one-to-one music lessons for children and adults. He has an in-depth theoretical, and practical, knowledge of music spanning many styles, and a flare for engaging and inspiring teaching. He is also a composer, installation artist, and oil painter and organises small scale concerts and festivals promoting the performing arts.
