Across the six years that Ollie has been tutoring, the majority of students achieve Grade 5-7 with many students starting lessons with Ollie at a Grade 2-3. Approximately 20% of his students each year achieve a Grade 8-9 who come in already at a Grade 4-6, showcasing how on average, students increase by 2-3+ grades after taking sessions with Ollie.

Ollie Blackwell is an English and Sociology specialist offering one-to-one online tutoring at £25.00 per hour. He supports students across Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3, GCSE, AS Level and A Level, and can also help with 11+ and 13+ preparation (including verbal reasoning and English skills). Alongside English Language, English Literature and Sociology, Ollie also teaches Criminology, English as a Foreign Language, and provides A Level personal statement support.

Ollie graduated from the University of Manchester with a Bachelors of Social Science in Politics and Sociology. His dissertation, which examined the impact of Covid-19 on GCSE educational experiences and achievement, was awarded a first class grade. He also achieved A*, A*, A* at A Level (English Literature, English Language and Sociology) and A*, A, A at GCSE (English Literature, English Language and RE).

His tutoring is exam-focused, with every session designed to build secure subject knowledge and then practise applying it effectively to exam-style questions. Students can expect lessons that are clear, structured, and engaging, with the exam at the heart of the learning. After each session, Ollie provides lesson reports, and homework can be arranged free of charge to reinforce progress between lessons.

With over 7 years’ one-to-one online tutoring experience, Ollie has worked with many students aiming to move from early grades to strong outcomes. He reports that most students typically reach Grade 5–7, with many starting at Grade 2–3, and that around 20% of students each year achieve Grade 8–9 when beginning from a stronger baseline.
