Paola Marcon

Paola was born and raised in Italy and moved to Scotland several years ago. She has been teaching Italian and English as second languages at all levels—both face-to-face and online for more than ten years.

As a dedicated language teacher; Paola truly enjoys seeing her students succeed. She is an experienced assessor and examiner, collaborating with international exam boards. She places a strong emphasis on error correction and fluency, using a communicative approach to encourage students to communicate as much as possible.

Confident, empathetic, and driven by a lifelong passion for learning and teaching languages, Paola believes that language learning is a fascinating journey that offers endless opportunities.

Paola holds a Masters degree in Sociology from the University of Trento and views sociology as a powerful tool for understanding society and developing critical thinking skills.

Paola is a native Italian speaker who has taught Italian and English as second languages for more than ten years, both face-to-face and online. She holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Trento, as well as CELTA and TEAP certificates. She is also an experienced assessor and examiner, collaborating with international exam boards.

Paola teaches Italian from KS2 through to professional qualification level, alongside GCSE, AS Level and A-Level Sociology and TEFL. Her teaching places emphasis on communication, helping learners use the language as much as possible while developing fluency through thoughtful error correction. She can provide lesson reports after each session, and homework can be arranged.

Empathetic and passionate about language learning, Paola supports learners studying Italian, English as a foreign language or Sociology. She sees sociology as a valuable way to understand society and build critical thinking skills.
