Sophia Bennett

Sophia has finished her masters in Criminology and is currently working as a teaching assistant as well as an academic tutor. She helps her students to engage in discussions where they can confidently express their opinions and brainstorm ideas. She would like to create a range of interactive tasks for her students, for example brainstorming sessions, focused debates and presentations.

Sophia offers students timed assessments, mock examination style sessions and examination preparation sessions.

In her spare time Sophia enjoys painting, reading and socialising with friends.

Sophia Bennett is a Criminology and Sociology specialist offering one-to-one tutoring and private tuition for students who want clear explanations, thoughtful discussion, and structured exam preparation. She holds an MSc in Criminology (Merit) from the University of South Wales and a BSc in Sociology from Cardiff University, and achieved an A in A-Level Sociology.

As a Sociology tutor and Criminology tutor, Sophia supports learners across GCSE and A Level, and can also work with Sociology and Criminology students at higher levels, including undergraduate study. She also teaches Religious Studies at GCSE and A Level. Alongside tutoring, she works as a teaching assistant and has experience supporting SEN students, bringing a patient, encouraging approach to building confidence and academic skills.

In lessons, Sophia helps students engage with key ideas through interactive tasks such as brainstorming, focused debates, and presentations, so they can develop strong opinions and communicate them clearly. She can provide timed assessments, mock examination-style sessions, and targeted examination preparation. Sophia has two years of tutoring and teaching experience, provides lesson reports after each session, and can arrange homework free of charge. Her rate is £30.00 per hour.
